EQUINE EYE: Revolutionizing Horse Monitoring for Safety and Peace of Mind
Equine Eye operates from South Australia, with warehouses in California (USA) and Watford (UK). “Our cameras are trusted by horse owners across Australia, the US, New Zealand, and Canada, and are gaining popularity in the UK,” said Alisa Rudolph, Customer Service, Events & Marketing Officer at Equine Eye. “They’re used in diverse settings—from breeders and racehorse trainers to dressage barns and barrel racers. Even zoos have relied on our cameras to transport elephants, and mounted police forces use them for patrol horses,” shared Alisa.
The company was founded by Jessica Thomas a lifelong equestrian who received her first pony at age eight. With over 30 years of experience, Jessica is passionate about improving equine wellbeing. She also established Lumiere Equestrian, renowned for anatomic saddlery. Equine Eye is part of the Lumiere family, dedicated to products that enhance horse comfort and safety worldwide.
Vision Camera - no power or WiFi? No problem. Equine Eye cameras are fully wireless and off-grid.
Creation of Equine Eye
The reason Jessica created Equine Eye was she saw a growing need for safer horse-hauling solutions. As we know, transporting horses can be stressful for horses given the many variables of travel that can cause scrambling, kicking, and overall anxiety.
“Our first product, a Bluetooth trailer camera, quickly became popular,” said Alisa. Given its success, customers requested a way to monitor foaling or injured horses in barns and paddocks and that is when the team developed the Vision camera — a 4G solution for monitoring anywhere, anytime.
Today, the company offers two best-selling cameras:
Vision Camera: A 4G camera for remote monitoring without power or Wi-Fi.
Voyager Camera: A Bluetooth camera for wireless trailer monitoring.
Challenges Solved
Horses can be fragile and prone to issues like colic, fence injuries, and lameness. Spotting problems early can make all the difference. “Equine Eye cameras give owners peace of mind and a better chance to act quickly when something goes wrong,” she stressed.
One of the main challenges of monitoring horses is that barns and/or trailers lack access to power and Wi-Fi. Equine Eye cameras are fully wireless and off-grid — no hardwiring, no power, no Wi-Fi required. This makes monitoring easy and stress-free, wherever your horse is.
Ideal for the Equine Environment
Unlike generic surveillance cameras, Equine Eye products are designed specifically for equine environments:
Vision Camera: The only portable 4G camera that doesn’t need power or Wi-Fi. It offers magnetic and screw mounts for easy repositioning, a battery life of over a month, and optional solar charging.
Voyager Camera: Built for trailers, with up to 8 hours of battery life—double that of most competitors.
Voyager Camera - captures clear images of your horse in transit.
“Both cameras stream live video to your phone via custom apps for iOS and Android. They include night vision, audio, and easy sharing features. Plus, our tech support team understands the unique needs of horse owners and provides expert assistance worldwide,” Alisa highlighted.
“At Equine Eye, improving safety and the well-being of horses is our core focus.”

Equine Eye Partnerships & AI Integration
“In the US we are partnered with the famous Double Dan Horsemanship who use our cameras at their Lexington ranch, US Rider, US Roper, Trail Guard, Better Breeder Institute and Double D Trailers,” said Alisa.
AI is changing the marketplace in both good and bad ways. While it helps businesses innovate, it has also made it easier for fake sites to appear, selling poor-quality products and even using established brands marketing materials. “We urge buyers to check site authenticity—look for consistent branding and social media activity,” sited Alisa.
“On the positive side, we’re exploring AI integration with our Vision camera. Imagine receiving an alert if your horse shows signs of colic or if its blanket is torn. This feature is still in early development, but we’re excited about its potential to improve horse welfare.”
